Behind me, we have the latest generation Astra OPC.
We have the same configuration as on the Focus ST and Megane RS,
meaning a 4 cylinders turbocharged, 2 cylinders,
the only difference being the Astra is a little bit more powerful.
It pops out 280 hp.
Compared to the regular Astra, it is a real metamorphosis.
The front bumper forces its presence with the honeycomb shape.
It is wider, longuer, wider again and more stately.
Inside, two things to notice
it is probably the most comfortable seats I ever sat in.
Those are big Recaro seats you can adjust in heigth, in width.
They're soooo goood frankly speaking, "so gooood uh!"
On the contrary , the dashboard is difficult to handle.
All the buttons are similar.
You wanna change the music, well you could switch on the aircon
as all the switchs have the same size and this is clearly not practical.
When activating the OPC mode, the Astra supersport mode,
the whole dashboard turns red
and the atmosphere gets sporty, this is quite cool.
In the everyday life, the Astra is an ideal car.
I have driven it for more than 2000 kilometers, I was bluffed by its comfort,
as on the highway as on the road or intown.
It comes with three driving modes
normal, sport and OPC.
There is one in surplus according to me: the sport mode.
It's a perfect car. You're well seated.
It's "so gooood, uh!" Heuu... Well.
When driving sportly, the Opel knows how to be nervous
although the gearbox is not really well staged.
You get used to it,
even with the quite long third gear. The front axle is parading a little bit around
but remains precise in the curves.
the braking system is a front big Brembo system and it brakes really hard, it bites.
I don't know if the car is build to beat times on track
but it is made to have fun in the curves and it is easy to understand.
It likes wh.... *** ahhhh !
You get used to it quickly, including its defects of performance
and well, you... it is "so goood uh!"
