So here we are at the train station in Cape Town at the corner of Adderley street and
Strand street and I am now going to take the train to Simon's Town, to the penguins. And
we take the train from Muizenberg and Kalk Bay, because I do not have any transport so
no own car, so I will take the train. It is the easiest way to get there. Lets go and get a ticket, ok?
First class tickets are thirty rand or approximately three Euros for a return ticket from Cape Town to Simon's Town.
Second class tickets are fifteen rand or approximately one Euro for a return ticket from Cape Town to Simon's Town.
Yes this is Muizenberg so you have here nice
backpackers, surf shops where you can rent a surf board for yourself if you are already
experienced or you can also take some surf lessons here. Also some nice coffee places
here where you can grab a coffee. Lets go to the beach and check out the hot surfer boys, but we go now to Kalk Bay.
Yes we are in Kalk Bay now here you see the wonderful harbour and the ocean. A great day to be here
and now we are going further to the fishing harbour here. Lets go down.
Yes we are sitting here now in Kalk Bay. It
just to us five minutes from Muizenberg to take the train to Kalk Bay and Kalk bay is
really good for fresh. For fresh fish directly from the harbour. So every morning at six
o'clock the fisherman come in and you can have great Snoek or Hake.
Yes what are we going to have now, what kind of fish? I think the special. Nice line fish and prawns yes
that will be great. I enjoy it. Lets go for it!
Yes we are now at the beautiful harbour of Kalk Bay behind us and there are the nice
restaurants to have good, great fish and also you see the small places where the fish come
in the morning. So all the fishman at six o'clock arrive here and they offer you fresh fish to buy.
There is a great take away, Kalkies. So if you do not feel like a proper restaurant
then go there and here the promenade we just came from the direction of Muizenberg. Now
we head on in the other direction, south towards Simon's Town.
Yellowtail. O thats nice.
White stumpnose fish. O nice!
Three in a bundle for thirty five rand only. Great. That is almost three to four euro.
This is Cape Town snoek.Nice.Yes the snoek.I have the dried snoek.
I see them drying over there.
Ok, lets get the train to Simon's Town.
Yes we are now here in Simon's Town our final destination. Yes it was a nice drive with
the train because you could see and enjoy the nice scenery without the hassle of the road. Lets go see the penguins.
I use the tins, that people throw away.
Yes we are now in Simon's Town at the main Navy harbour of South Africa and also its very famous for the penguins, but the penguins
are the end of Simon's Town. So if you hop off at the train station you will probably
take about 40 minutes to walk there. Are we going a little further, do you have time ? Yes.
Thats good. Ok lets ask the lady for a taxi? Yes? Hi we
want to go to the penguins are you driving there aswell? Yes mam we do. How much it it?
It is R30 to the penguins. Thirty rand for the three of us? Yes for the three of you.
So for one person it is ten rand. And ten rand for the whole Simon;s Town. If I go in
one direction I pay ten rand. Ten rand and ten rand back again. O thats great, Great
thanks thats perfect. Cool.
Thats nice can you see the penguins there? They are really cute. We finally found the
penguins and we can walk along Boulder's Beach. There is a pathway where one can just enjoy
and see the penguins at the end, but you can also get access to the beach down there, but you have to pay to go in.
Yes that is it from our side on the know it
all and more channel for today with the train from Cape Town to Simons town. It was a lovely
day and now we are going back to Cape Town. And have a nice evening there.
